ZXONIC Type 1023 is a general-purpose, high-precision free-field measurement microphone engineered for demanding acoustic applications. Covering a frequency range from 3.15 Hz to 20 kHz, this microphone offers high sensitivity and excellent stability, making it ideal for a wide variety of measurement scenarios.
As a prepolarized microphone, Type 1023 is especially well suited for battery-powered equipment and operation in high-humidity environments. Its versatility makes it a go-to choice for both laboratory and field use, and it is the standard microphone fitted in several of our flagship sound level meters due to its reliability and performance.
At higher frequencies, sound waves interacting with the microphone body can cause reflections and diffractions, leading to an increased pressure at the diaphragm and, consequently, an artificially elevated output.
To address this, free-field microphones are optimized to maintain a flat frequency response at 0° incidence, ensuring accurate results in open or controlled acoustic environments. Type 1023 is precisely tuned for use with its protection grid in place, preserving its performance across its full frequency range.
Type 1023 meets the requirements for use in IEC 61672 Class 1 sound level meters and is ideal for any high-precision acoustic measurement where robustness, wide frequency coverage, and long-term stability are critical.

Quality and Stability
The stainless-steel diaphragm is laser-welded for enhanced mechanical stability and environmental resilience.
Each ZXONIC microphone is assembled in a cleanroom environment, ensuring low self-noise, excellent thermal stability, and resistance to environmental stressors such as humidity and temperature extremes.
Type 1023 TEDS Microphone Set
Type 1023 is also manufatured with TEDS (Transducer Electronic Data Sheet) configurations, paired with compatible preamplifiers. The microphone and preamplifier are sealed together to form a single, integrated unit. Each TEDS unit contains a preloaded digital ID and sensitivity calibration, allowing for automatic sensor recognition and error-free setup with compatible DAQ systems.
Default TEDS template is to IEEE P1451.4 v1.0 Template.
