System Overview

Type 388 Audiometer & Tympanometer Calibration System is a complete test and calibration solution designed for manufacturers, service laboratories, and certification facilities working with audiometers and tympanometers. Built for both routine calibration/certification and product design verification, type 388 combines precision hardware, standardized acoustic and mechanical couplers, and user-friendly PC software to deliver accurate, repeatable, and efficient measurements.

The system supports a wide range of transducers used in hearing assessment equipment, including supra-aural and circumaural earphones, insert earphones, and bone vibrators. By integrating our manufactured artificial ears, acoustic couplers, and artificial mastoids, type 388 enables standardized testing in accordance with relevant IEC requirements. It is suitable for performing the full range of essential audiometer and tympanometer tests, from sound pressure and frequency checks to distortion, masking noise, pressure indication, cavity volume verification, and bone conduction calibration.

At the center of the system is a real-time measurement and analysis platform that guides the user through the testing process step by step. The software simplifies setup, automates test procedures, displays measurement data in real time, and generates customized calibration reports with clear color graphs for documentation, printing, and sharing. This helps reduce setup time, improve consistency, and increase productivity in both laboratory and production environments.

With its low background noise, wide dynamic measurement range, and high-accuracy data acquisition, the ZX388 provides dependable performance for demanding calibration tasks. The system can also be configured according to specific application needs, allowing users to select the most suitable combination of hardware, accessories, and software for audiometer-only or combined audiometer and tympanometer testing.

Designed around internationally recognized standards, including IEC 60645-1 and IEC 60645-5, the ZX388 offers a practical and scalable solution for organizations that need reliable, standards-based calibration of hearing test equipment.
