ZX8312 is an dodecahedral omnidirectional sound source designed for building acoustics measurements, featuring wireless control, portable, and an integrated power supply for convenient field use. It uses 12 loudspeakers in a dodecahedral configuration to radiate sound evenly in a near-spherical pattern. The loudspeakers are connected in a series–parallel network to ensure in-phase operation and a load impedance that properly matches the power amplifier.

The loudspeaker weighs less than 7.6 kg/16.7lb and is fitted with a convenient lifting handle that does not measurably interfere with the sound field.
